I have been trying to start this blog for a while. Weeks probably. I just wasn't sure what the purpose of my blog would be. Afterall, I have a website ebisbing.com. So, I already have a place on the internet to show my work.
I have decided to use this place to show new and more experimental work. Work that may never get shown anywhere else. And, I am planning to talk about my studio practice. Right now I am kind of in the middle of working at home and in our Brooklyn studio. I think I am leaning more towards the Brooklyn studio presently. I think I get more work done there. There are far fewer distractions.
I recently came across these Artist Trading Cards at the art supply store. They come in different kinds of paper. I bought them in watercolor paper. They are 3.5 x 2.5 inches. You could just make your own by cutting the paper to that size.
Top left: "Girl [after Modersohn-Becker]. Top right: "For the Love of Pattern [after Klimt]. Bottom right: "Virgin and Child with Pear [after Durer]. Actually, I'm not entirely sure if it is after Durer or Martini. I will look that up and post that information later. These are all made of painted paper collage: gouache on paper with gold leaf.
